Boy Trapped In Balloon - Stupidest News Story of the Year

Every news outlet in the country was carrying live coverage of the weather balloon drifting throught the air, supposedly with a 6-Year old boy trapped in the basket beneath the balloon.

File this one under "stupid panic" and "popular delusion". Chances are the balloon could not have supported the weight of a large tabby cat, let alone a 6-year-old human.
